Ok so I’m convinced that there are no coincidences… This is amazing. I just listened to Shelea’s Tribute as I do every morning, just up to the next song, so whatever I’m impressed to write is fresh and low-and-behold today’s song is so in line with the “theme” thus far.
After the hurt and pain, after understanding it all and learning the lessons of past mistakes… after opening your heart again, and allowing Love to bring you joy, You are finally Free to believe. Believe not only in the person you’re with, but believe in yourself as well. We can easily find ourselves in a place where we’ve given up, especially when it comes to the sensitive subjects; love, weight, success, parenting, etc… And this song speaks to the moment when you are so okay with YOU that it opens you up to be okay with them. You feel me? ☺
Today is a good day to go back and be impressed with yourself - Step out a little and dare to be proud of You… it’ll make the lessons easier to understand. When you’re down in the dumps you see nothing but trash, so lift your head and realize the things that have held you down. Then see, learn, and release. Once you’ve accomplished that, it becomes much easier to believe in the Love that you have with the one you Love. ☺

I Want To Run To You
What a beautiful song… Doesn’t it seem like these songs are put in this order for some reason? Seems that way to me. Yesterday we talked about putting our pride aside and just really being with the one we Love. Before that we talked about finding that someone… today we see the pride has been set aside and true vulnerability is revealed and so is the fear, “Will you stay or will you run away?”.
The bottom line to me is the truth of our real feelings. If we’re not honest with ourselves in our most tender moments, we will never know if they would “run away” or stay… because we don’t give Love a chance for fear of rejection. Love, when really lived, is a very unveiling story that can humble the wildest beast – showing us all that we DO need someone.
We’ve all been hurt, rejected, and even lied to, and those painful times have made some of us declare to never again “allow” it to happen. But that staunch attitude and demeanor will keep a smile off your face, and a hole in your heart. Should we learn our lessons and learn from our mistakes, of course! Just don’t let the lessons harden your heart… it’s okay to Love again.

I’m Your Baby Tonight
Good grief, how am I supposed to find something “spiritually meaningful” with this song?! Thanks a lot, LilBit! LOL
So I listened to this song, and after I got over the initial understanding that the song is written about a one night love affair with the person she loved very much (it reminded me of like Valentine’s Day)… something hit me and I started to smile. Get rid of your pride.
In this song Whitney is telling her Love, that she will be open, vulnerable, submissive, engaged, and free. She is going to put everything else aside and just spend those moments engulfed in the loving arms of that one person that she has come to love so much.
If you notice a lot of the arguments and moments of discomfort that we have are because of our pride. Remember the last time you laid quietly on the couch snuggled with your love one? What was happening then… a mutual trust and vulnerability was present. We’ve become so “jaded” because of the things that have happened in the past (with that person) that we no longer experience those moments of blissful exchange.
Tonight… not waiting until Friday or this weekend, without thinking about anything else, go to the one you love and “Be their Baby tonight”

Didn’t We Almost Have It All
It is the second day (the first work day for most) in yet another week. Can you believe it’s March already?! Slow down. ☺ As I mentioned on the 1st of this month I am picking Whitney Houston songs and giving my “spin” on or of them. Because Shelea Frazier was so gracious to do a wonderful tribute, I’m using her first few songs and then will continue for the remainder of the month with more random choices.
With that being said, STOP WASTING TIME. Please. I’m not sure what happened or when it happened that we as a people (human beings), females in particular, adopted this idea that we have to stay in a loveless situation regardless of how awful we feel. Perhaps it came about because we have been told that women who are in and out of relationships are (ummm let me say this nicely LOL) “dirty” or loose. Perhaps it’s because for centuries women have had to humble themselves from head to toe, inside and out in order to “go along”… or perhaps it’s a religious viewpoint. Regardless of how it came about, we should really look into it more deeply and change some things.
Love whether it be a romantic Love or a friendship Love, is supposed to be a joyous adventure. It is meant for us to experience God when we experience Love – and from what I’m seeing, ain’t no God in most of it. My Mom used to tell me a few years ago how loving God is, how kind and wonderful… now whether you believe in God or not, the point is that human interaction was meant to be a gift…that you actually want, not something that you grudgingly accept because that’s all they have to offer.
Take the time and be with someone or have a relationship with someone that makes you say; “The ride was worth the fall my friend” ~W.H. Enjoy life while you have it.

Greatest Love Of All
Many many years ago, my cousin Nicole would sing this song at family gatherings and church events and it just reminds me of the good ‘ole days.
What about the Babies? Those of you who know me best, know how I feel about the state of our children… Mercy! But this song speaks to so much more then just the kids and taking care of them, it speaks to the heart in us all. Again and again we are told to Love ourselves, and find that deep richness that is inside each one of us… but the world gets in the way and we sometimes find ourselves looking on the outside for nourishment, to fulfill our needs.
Remember the song, “I’m going to let my little light shine?” One of the verses is, “hide it under a bushel, NO!...” This is what the song means to me. Have pride in yourself and where you’ve come from, the amount of success you’ve had, how you could’ve easily been worse-off if you hadn’t made the hard decisions that you did. As Whitney said, don’t walk in anyone’s shadow… you don’t need to. Have the confidence that you want children to grow up with – Be a Living Example. Show our children that the greatest Love they can have is the Love within. (…and God’s Love, Mom that’s for you. Love You ☺)
“Because the greatest Love of all is happening to me… I found the greatest Love of All INSIDE OF ME.” – Whitney Houston.

Saving All My Love…
I promised that this month I would write a blog (daily) based on a motivation I experienced at that time… That influence was Whitney Houston. When she passed last month, I realized how much I could honor her by writing something positive here on my forum.
So we start with the song “Saving All My Love”, because my little sister (Shelea Frazie Youtube: SheleaMusic) I started her tribute with the same song – Thanks LilBit. I’m going to do what I do best, which is find the good. So here we go… :)
Someone reading this blog is “saving their love” for someone who either doesn’t deserve it, has someone else that they’re giving their love to, or is involved in a messy “love” triangle. I put love in quotes because that level of distrust, messiness, and dishonesty is Not Love, in my book.
So if you are that person, step back for a moment and look at the situation from a place of confidence and self-Love. Remember that most people are involved in unpleasant situations because they don’t think they can do any better, or find anyone that will “love” them quite the same. But I’m here to tell you, that YOU CAN and Will. Be a better you and save your love for the one who deserves it… Love yourself enough too.

Thanks Giving Regrets
Thanks Giving is a holiday that commemorates the awesome things we’ve overcome together, the victories we’ve won, and the collection of smiles shared with family and friends over a long table of food and treats… but somehow this day is always ruined by the feeling we get on Black Friday. No it’s not because of the hustle and bustle of the crazy shopping, or even the clean-up detail after everyone is gone, it’s the guilt from eating too much and having so many leftovers that we don’t want to waste. I call this, “Thanks Giving Regrets”.
I often write about treating ourselves with kindness and that works during the rest of the year, but around the holidays, all self-love goes flying out the door and we began a “I hate myself” campaign all over again. Notwithstanding the fact that New Years (another joyful holiday) is peeking around the corner, and we realize we are more overweight and farther away from our last year’s resolution then we were two years ago! – now comes the depression. We just feel defeated, worn-out, and hopeless… isn’t this true?
Well that all stops now!
“There’s no time like the present”. This wonderful quote or statement rather, reminds us of the second, third and, 100th chances that we have to re-choose. We have the right to change our minds, to begin the process that we swore we would 11 months ago, to reignite that spark from 5 years ago… we can began again now. So stop worrying and feeling so blue, Thanks Giving is the time to celebrate and enjoy… Let’s be grateful we can start again.
Here are some helpful tips:
• Be Thankful on Thanks Giving Day and Beyond. It is a wonderful holiday so enjoy it.
• Find a charity (Churches, Schools, Organizations, etc) that give food to those in greater need. This relieves the pressure to continue eating pass the holiday.
• Begin a Menu Calendar and make better choices. Don’t make it a big deal just make a different decision.
• Exercise Daily. Get some form of exercise in everyday… it will make you feel better about yourself.
