Love Will Save The Day

“Don’t panic when you hit the danger zone, what you need is a change of heart… When you’re feeling down and out, Love will save the day.”

Oh YES! I Love this song! My cousin called me yesterday evening to bring me up to speed on a long drawn out foolishness that someone else is causing. OMG folk and they self-made drama! So it’s really too much to go into here on the blog, but the bottom line is that this person who is supposed to be family, is just full of what I can only explain as pain, grief and a very low self esteem. Nevertheless, I found myself telling my older cousin, “Don’t worry, the Good always wins in the end.” And that’s what I’m telling you!

See I think it’s about You and You alone. When you go to sleep at night do you rest well? When you’re around those pure Spirited children, do you enjoy their innocent joy? When you’re in the presence of the wise elderly, are you comforted by their knowledge? That’s what counts, that’s the Love in You. That’s the Good. We can not fret over what others are trying to do, because LOVE WILL SAVE THE DAY! Sing Whitney!

Love You! Megan

Thinking About You

Place the ball in their court. Whitney Houston told him look, “I keep thinking about you boy, so tell me what you gonna do…” I Love It! We’ve all heard the saying, “A closed mouth don’t get feed”, right? Ok well then open your mouth and speak the things that you want to experience in your life.

I tell my clients all the time not only to envision what you see yourself as (weight wise), but also say it aloud. Affirm it! There is life and death in the power of the tongue, so use that power to your advantage. I learned this lesson, from many years of mistakes (finally learned it argh)… you would not believe how long it took for me to actually say, “I need a hug”. Those four simple words would give me a headache and I’d break out in sweats (LOL)! Because I didn’t want to be that vulnerable, but Baby let me tell you, it sure did help when I did.

Affirming is the second step to manifesting. Speak that job into existence, that love, that fun, those vacations…etc. Use Your Power and Macgic

Let’s Go! Megan

Love Is A Contact Sport

Ok the best players in any league, I don’t care if it’s football, basketball, or boxing… they will tell you that they spend countless hours studying their opponent. Now Love is not to be a competition or a battle, but in this song Whitney is saying that it’s a sport…a contact sport. You must get involved!

Stop playing love from the sidelines. Keeping things to yourself, trying so desperately to keep this “image” up and hiding your true identity. Get ugly with it, play some defense and serious offense. Get your hands wet and even dirty! Give it all you got.

Learn who you’re playing this game with (game in a good way), and have FUN.

Go Team!

Megan

Like I Never Left

“I want you to love me like I never left…” We’ve all made mistakes and we certainly have all felt the pain that a mistake can sometimes bring… but how many of us have learned the lessons from our mistakes? Relationships, most of them are between two people, and so much depends on just these two. In order to have a relationship that is worth anything, you must have; communication, trust, freedom to be (you), compassion, and FORGIVENESS. That’s what this song reminds me of.

It does hurt when someone calls you out your name, when you’ve been disrespected and played. AND you all know I don’t fool around with folk being hurt unnecessarily, however there are times when we need to forgive people for their slip-ups, because God knows we have our own.

But this is a 2-way street. When you’re wrong APOLOGIZE and ask for forgiveness. Oh boy do we all have some pride… big-chested-onery-folk. ☺ Let us put that aside and be gentle and kind, because that’s really all we want in return… We all want to be Loved like before… like we never left.

MUAH, Megan

Nothin’ But Love

Jill Scott said it best, “Hater’s, Hate on Me!”. She’s not asking for hate to come her way, rather she’s saying, “I’m doing awesome things with my life, I’m successful, prosperous and happy… and those that hate, don’t want that for anyone…” I paraphrase in my own words of course. ☺ That’s what WH is saying here. I’ve got nothing but Love for those who support me and those who don’t. For those who have given to me and those who have selfishly taken – I have nothing but Love for ya.

I recently had someone leave a ugly comment on my FaceBook Fan Page (Megan McGlover Fan Page), about the Trayvon Martin video response I uploaded. I realized while reading it, that opinions are like our waste outlet system (LOL like that don’t You?)… everyone has one. But it’s not just the opinion, it’s the process I’m either going to take that comment through or not! I chose to simply ignore it, because I must be on the right path if someone’s upset.

So to you who have someone or someones bothering you… keep going. Smile and bask in the Favor that is on Your Life.

How Will I Know

This song just makes your shoulders move in your seat. Go WH!!!!

It’s Friday so let’s keep it simply ☺. You know by the way it makes you feel. We excuse our feelings all the time, because there are things that we just need to get done. Therefore we disregard how it makes us feel. You know when your morals are being put to the side because of the sick feeling in your gut. You know when you’re in the midst of something you shouldn’t be because the hint of discomfort. You know something isn’t right, when it just doesn’t feel right. Stop ignoring those small and sometimes big flags – they’re there for a reason.

The same can be said about the good feelings too. The song is about something wonderful happening. Embrace those glorious feelings and multiply them by duplicating the same experiences over and over again.

TGIF FOR REAL! LOL keep careful this weekend ya’ll. See you Monday.

Million Dollar Bill

WHEW! Ok so it’s been difficult thinking about what I would write today, when I just heard that the coroner reported that he found cocaine and marijuana in WH’s blood. ARGH!!!! Was I naïve and hoped it wouldn’t be there, YES! I was hoping it was prescription drugs and a unhealthy mix of alcohol… but I’m sure in many ways I knew better. BUT in my disappointment, I still need to find the good and see the wonder and beautiful message in her songs. So here it is. ☺

Is it safe to say that Whitney didn’t feel like a Million Dollar Bill? I think so. Kevin Costner expressed that she never felt “good enough” and her daughter Bobbi Kristina attest to the same thing during the Oprah Winfrey interview. Good Lord don’t let that be you!

It’s not up to others to lift us up, it’s up to US… however it certainly helps when they do. Right? I begging you (and me), continue to see that beautiful person in the mirror, continue to try and push to manifest that glory you envision. Make yourself feel like a Million Dollar Bill. When we don’t it’s deadly, literally. The hopeless, worthless feeling that WH had was so unbearable that she couldn’t handle it. Find Your Good!
1. Eat Better
2. Exercise
3. Paint your nails and toes
4. Go for long walks in nature
5. Hang out with friends and family
6. Enjoy your life… even at work
7. Love LOVE Love

When You Believe

“Many nights we prayed, with no proof anyone could hear… now we are not afraid… we were moving mountains before we knew we could…”

We’ve gotten out of the habit of expecting good things to happen. With the tragedy of things like Trayvon Martin, who can blame us! But my dear friends, we can not give up, if we do the negative that is all around wins and we are left with nothing.

This is why it is so important that we stick together in the mindfulness of positivity. It’s like what I tell my clients, “just when you’re ready to give up and don’t want to workout anymore, that’s exactly when you need to the most”… Things are a little grim for a lot of folk (economy, family loss, illness, work related stress, etc), so the energy in general is low and the only way to fix or counteract it is by BELIEVING and WORKING towards that which we want and are aiming for.

THERE CAN BE MIRACLES, sometimes we just have to be the Creator of them. ☺

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

I’m Every Woman

When is the last time you checked out this video? OMG I love it! This is one of my favorite WH songs, probably because I also love Ms. Chaka! I remember pretending to be one of the background dancers AND had the black outfit (with bell bottoms) to match. LOL

“Esame dentro mi fuori di” Means to examine myself in and out, it also can be translated as “Go within and never without”… which is the one I use. This is one of my tattoos, and reminds me to always look within myself for the answers. Not in the “I know it all” kind of way, but in the reassuring way. WH had it right when she said “…it’s all in me… I do it naturally” We are naturally created to be talented and gifted, to be creative and adventurous. It really does come naturally. But because we’ve been beating up so many times, our confidence in our self-reliance has been crushed and we look outside for something that’s right their in our hearts.

Whether you’re a man or woman, YOU have what it takes to make it happen… whatever it is. Don’t believe the masses, believe that small voice in your head telling you to keep going, keep moving, keep believing.

Happy Tuesday! Megan

So Emotional

This song right here is about some truth. LOL Now I know for a fact that everyone of us has been here before. WHEWWWW! I mean just a mess when it comes to that someone. But here’s the wonderful thing about this song, WH is being honest about it. In today’s world no one wants to say how much they Love someone, or how much they are really effected by their presence for fear of a number of things… but so what. What do you loose by telling the truth? Ok they may not feel the same way, but what if they DO! Nine times out of ten if you’re feeling that strongly about them, they are feeling the same way (Law of Attraction). Unless of course you’re stalking someone. LOL
Wait that’s not a LOL, stop doing that. ☺

Let go of that tight rope and feel again. It’s ok to be "head over heels" over someone, it really is ok to be emotional, it’s part of being human. “It’s shocking what Love can do”~WH, so just allow it.

MUAH, Megan

I Wanna Dance With Somebody

How many of us have had awesome news and just want to share it with someone? Someone that we know will be just as happy if not more so for us. This song makes me excited and happy… it actually makes me want to dance and I usually do that when I’m really excited about something.

I can actually say that when I have some news to share, I have someone that I can trust has my back – someone that will dance with me. It’s an amazing feeling but it took a lot of pain and discernment to get here.
I suppose I’m saying take the time to find the person(s) that will “raise the roof” with you in celebration. Unfortunately every person in our lives are not in 100% support of us regardless of what they say. Am I saying dwell on that or even look for it? No. I’m saying take the time to notice and surround yourself with folk that really Love You.

MUAH, Megan

You Give Good Love

Is there a Good and Bad Love? For some reason that question just popped in my head. ☺ But let’s say for instance there was “good” and “bad” would we know the difference? I sure hope so.

I re-watched the Whitney Houston interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2009 and it certainly seemed to me that she did not recognize that the relationship she was in was in fact “bad” love and it took her a long time to find that out.

Some of us are in that same situation, perhaps not as drastic, but the pain is the same. Recognize it and make the necessary changes… You are so worth it.

Then there are some of us, who are in relationships with a person that fits this song’s description to a “T” and don’t appreciate it. Recognize it and make the necessary changes… they are worth it.

It’s Not Right BUT It’s Ok

Ok so after re-watching the Oprah Winfrey interview with the great late Whitney Houston, I see that this song was made specifically about some events that literally happened between her and her ex-husband. You really shouldn’t mess with folk that have multi-million dollar singing contracts. LOL!

So the obvious point of this song is, “you did me wrong, but it’s cool… I will survive”… We all know this and can all say we’ve been through something and made it through to the other side. And that’s really it – We always make it to the other side.

I learned something about myself this week – IT ALWAYS WORKS OUT, ALWAYS. I’m convinced that regardless of what is hurled my way, things always work out and when I have a more positive outlook on things during the “mess”, it works out even better.

That’s my word for this evening… keep focused on the good, learn the lesson(s), and move on – it will always be OK.

Good night, sorry for the late blog, I’ve been busy all day. MUAH!

I Look To You

Can I be honest? I’m at a point in my life experience right now, where I’m having to trust in/on something I can not see. I’m tired, worn out, and frankly irritated but I’m still in the game. I can say that persistence and diligence does work, so we must keep pushing, right?

There comes a time in everyone’s life, often more then once, when we need someone else to “look to” for guidance, support, motivation, or just a hug. This song reminds me that regardless of your entertainment status or rank in society everyone needs someone and/or something to believe in.

I’m encouraged… you stay encouraged also.

Let’s Go!

Oh FYI for some stoopid reason I can't respond to the comments that y'all are leaving I'm so sorry about that. I am reading and enjoying them however. Please continue to talk to me. :)

Jesus Loves Me

Do y’all remember the first time you watched Body Guard and Whitney and her co-star (sister in the movie) broke out in this song? OMG the tears! That was so moving then and certainly is now.

So I was thinking, as I sometimes do (LOL)… there are quite a few people that do not believe in Jesus and I figured out why… His followers. Mystery solved. We prove something by trying to actualize it, make it plain and available to the person(s) we’re trying to prove it too, correct? So what’s up with most Christians? I personally have had a number of unpleasant interactions with some Christians that has made me think twice about a LOT of things, so I can just imagine how others may feel. Remember, “the Jesus in me, Loves the Jesus in you”? It is that that makes it… “soooo easy, so easy to Love”. So what’s the problem?

My blog so I say what I want. ☺ I personally think the problem is a lack of acceptance and respect. Well Megan what do you mean? I mean you can not punish someone into Love. It is that kindness and calming Spirit that draws people in, not the constant threat that what they’re doing is wrong and will lead them to hell (which again we can’t prove, I’m just saying). What ALL OF US can do is simply accept others and treat them as if we were raised that same way. I think that we don’t realize that people outside of this country and even within are raised to believe the way they do and have different ways of doing things or viewing things, because that’s how it’s been all their life. Be sensitive and empathetic before condemning and mean.

What’s the “big deal” about this song and perhaps what brought comfort to Whitney when she sang it, is that Jesus Loves You, and that strong belief that she was accepted she as she was probably had her holding on a lot longer then even she thought she could. Let us try to make it more about Me and You – we don’t always have to agree, but we should certainly be more accepting and Loving one to another.

HAPPY MONDAY! LYL LYS

My Love Is Your Love

I say to you today this, LIVE ON PURPOSE! Have I said this before? Probably, and I’m saying it again ☺ Have no regrets except the regret that you didn’t smile enough, enjoy enough, and breath enough.

This song is about Love, which all the good ones are… but outside of the obvious, it seems to say, regardless of your situation have something to live for. Whitney said, “even if we’re living on the streets” now you know aint nobody trying to live on the streets… but you get the point, right? If you have a purpose and a goal that makes you feel good, that will make your current condition just that… current not everlasting. Remember Tyler Perry’s humble beginnings? From what I know of his story he wasn’t sleeping in his car with someone else, so it wasn’t about the Love for someone that kept him going, it was the belief in his dream and the passion he had for doing what he loved most. (Not that the love for someone else would be any less)

Just singing this song makes you smile, doesn’t it? It helps me to hold on to my own dreams and know that regardless of what goes on around me, I’m in love with what I do… and will go to “judgment day” doing it, because it makes me laugh and enjoy living.

Go to the mirror today and look in it. Then think of something that makes you smile and then something that makes you laugh… HOLD that thought in your mind’s eye throughout the weekend and report back to me on Monday. Let’s see if we can’t get a Love Train started.

I Believe In You And Me

Ok so I’m convinced that there are no coincidences… This is amazing. I just listened to Shelea’s Tribute as I do every morning, just up to the next song, so whatever I’m impressed to write is fresh and low-and-behold today’s song is so in line with the “theme” thus far.

After the hurt and pain, after understanding it all and learning the lessons of past mistakes… after opening your heart again, and allowing Love to bring you joy, You are finally Free to believe. Believe not only in the person you’re with, but believe in yourself as well. We can easily find ourselves in a place where we’ve given up, especially when it comes to the sensitive subjects; love, weight, success, parenting, etc… And this song speaks to the moment when you are so okay with YOU that it opens you up to be okay with them. You feel me? ☺

Today is a good day to go back and be impressed with yourself - Step out a little and dare to be proud of You… it’ll make the lessons easier to understand. When you’re down in the dumps you see nothing but trash, so lift your head and realize the things that have held you down. Then see, learn, and release. Once you’ve accomplished that, it becomes much easier to believe in the Love that you have with the one you Love. ☺

I Want To Run To You

What a beautiful song… Doesn’t it seem like these songs are put in this order for some reason? Seems that way to me. Yesterday we talked about putting our pride aside and just really being with the one we Love. Before that we talked about finding that someone… today we see the pride has been set aside and true vulnerability is revealed and so is the fear, “Will you stay or will you run away?”.

The bottom line to me is the truth of our real feelings. If we’re not honest with ourselves in our most tender moments, we will never know if they would “run away” or stay… because we don’t give Love a chance for fear of rejection. Love, when really lived, is a very unveiling story that can humble the wildest beast – showing us all that we DO need someone.

We’ve all been hurt, rejected, and even lied to, and those painful times have made some of us declare to never again “allow” it to happen. But that staunch attitude and demeanor will keep a smile off your face, and a hole in your heart. Should we learn our lessons and learn from our mistakes, of course! Just don’t let the lessons harden your heart… it’s okay to Love again.

Happy Hump Day Peoples! Megan

I’m Your Baby Tonight

Good grief, how am I supposed to find something “spiritually meaningful” with this song?! Thanks a lot, LilBit! LOL

So I listened to this song, and after I got over the initial understanding that the song is written about a one night love affair with the person she loved very much (it reminded me of like Valentine’s Day)… something hit me and I started to smile. Get rid of your pride.

In this song Whitney is telling her Love, that she will be open, vulnerable, submissive, engaged, and free. She is going to put everything else aside and just spend those moments engulfed in the loving arms of that one person that she has come to love so much.

If you notice a lot of the arguments and moments of discomfort that we have are because of our pride. Remember the last time you laid quietly on the couch snuggled with your love one? What was happening then… a mutual trust and vulnerability was present. We’ve become so “jaded” because of the things that have happened in the past (with that person) that we no longer experience those moments of blissful exchange.

Tonight… not waiting until Friday or this weekend, without thinking about anything else, go to the one you love and “Be their Baby tonight”

Didn’t We Almost Have It All

It is the second day (the first work day for most) in yet another week. Can you believe it’s March already?! Slow down. ☺ As I mentioned on the 1st of this month I am picking Whitney Houston songs and giving my “spin” on or of them. Because Shelea Frazier was so gracious to do a wonderful tribute, I’m using her first few songs and then will continue for the remainder of the month with more random choices.

With that being said, STOP WASTING TIME. Please. I’m not sure what happened or when it happened that we as a people (human beings), females in particular, adopted this idea that we have to stay in a loveless situation regardless of how awful we feel. Perhaps it came about because we have been told that women who are in and out of relationships are (ummm let me say this nicely LOL) “dirty” or loose. Perhaps it’s because for centuries women have had to humble themselves from head to toe, inside and out in order to “go along”… or perhaps it’s a religious viewpoint. Regardless of how it came about, we should really look into it more deeply and change some things.
Love whether it be a romantic Love or a friendship Love, is supposed to be a joyous adventure. It is meant for us to experience God when we experience Love – and from what I’m seeing, ain’t no God in most of it. My Mom used to tell me a few years ago how loving God is, how kind and wonderful… now whether you believe in God or not, the point is that human interaction was meant to be a gift…that you actually want, not something that you grudgingly accept because that’s all they have to offer.

Take the time and be with someone or have a relationship with someone that makes you say; “The ride was worth the fall my friend” ~W.H. Enjoy life while you have it.

Greatest Love Of All

Many many years ago, my cousin Nicole would sing this song at family gatherings and church events and it just reminds me of the good ‘ole days.

What about the Babies? Those of you who know me best, know how I feel about the state of our children… Mercy! But this song speaks to so much more then just the kids and taking care of them, it speaks to the heart in us all. Again and again we are told to Love ourselves, and find that deep richness that is inside each one of us… but the world gets in the way and we sometimes find ourselves looking on the outside for nourishment, to fulfill our needs.

Remember the song, “I’m going to let my little light shine?” One of the verses is, “hide it under a bushel, NO!...” This is what the song means to me. Have pride in yourself and where you’ve come from, the amount of success you’ve had, how you could’ve easily been worse-off if you hadn’t made the hard decisions that you did. As Whitney said, don’t walk in anyone’s shadow… you don’t need to. Have the confidence that you want children to grow up with – Be a Living Example. Show our children that the greatest Love they can have is the Love within. (…and God’s Love, Mom that’s for you. Love You ☺)

“Because the greatest Love of all is happening to me… I found the greatest Love of All INSIDE OF ME.” – Whitney Houston.

Saving All My Love…

I promised that this month I would write a blog (daily) based on a motivation I experienced at that time… That influence was Whitney Houston. When she passed last month, I realized how much I could honor her by writing something positive here on my forum.

So we start with the song “Saving All My Love”, because my little sister (Shelea Frazie Youtube: SheleaMusic) I started her tribute with the same song – Thanks LilBit. I’m going to do what I do best, which is find the good. So here we go… :)

Someone reading this blog is “saving their love” for someone who either doesn’t deserve it, has someone else that they’re giving their love to, or is involved in a messy “love” triangle. I put love in quotes because that level of distrust, messiness, and dishonesty is Not Love, in my book.

So if you are that person, step back for a moment and look at the situation from a place of confidence and self-Love. Remember that most people are involved in unpleasant situations because they don’t think they can do any better, or find anyone that will “love” them quite the same. But I’m here to tell you, that YOU CAN and Will. Be a better you and save your love for the one who deserves it… Love yourself enough too.
