Be anxious for nothing…

Now I get it. I never really liked that verse when I was younger because I didn’t understand it. As I got older, I just ignored the verse because I didn’t like it. LOL Then this morning as I was meditating and being very honest with myself and God about a situation, I realized that because I was anxious to get something else, I wasn’t really able to be genuinely grateful for what I JUST RECEIVED YESTERDAY! See this is why God owns a cattle on a thousand hills, but He’s very cautious about spoiling His kids. I used the word able for a reason. It’s almost like a mathematical equation, you can not be grateful while desperately wanting something else, you will come up with a false answer. (I’m taking a math class in school and it’s consuming me. LOL).

This text is not about patience, it’s about standing in the midst of thankfulness at ALL TIMES. I’m receiving this teaching right now.

Be grateful Megan, even when you know more blessings are coming… let them come, but saturate yourself in the abundance of now.

HEY YOU, Have an AWESOME day!

LET IT GO!

Those three words will change your life. I sat in the presence of a prolific power by the name of Bishop Carlton Pearson who brought forth a word that was so thorough you had to keep standing up so things wouldn’t fly over your head. Amongst a large assortment of prophetic things that he said, he, towards the end of the sermon, focused on letting things go. LET IT GO! He then touched on something I wrote about a couple of days ago… Loving yourself.

When you begin to love yourself your perspective of you changes, your perspective of circumstances changes, and what you allow changes. You realize that you no longer need to be validated by the drama surrounding your life. But you wont realize this until you see your worth… then you WILL LET IT GO.

Let’s try it today, right now, even if you’re a guy, hug yourself and say I LOVE AND FORGIVE YOU. I almost cry every time I do… must mean I was very hard on myself… wow that’s deep.

Love ya!

Proud of Me

In my meditation this morning I realized I am PROUD of myself. Ok so this should not have shocked me the way did, right? I mean we should be proud of ourselves if nothing else. But in most cases we aren’t apart of our own fan club. The humility we were taught in church has a tendency to overshadow confidence, pressing down firmly on our self-worth with the text, “the meek shall inherit thee earth.” I in all my boldness, have felt that pressure, not realizing that it was suppressing my potential. It is ok to be proud of who I am, what I am and what I’ve already become, because it simply gets greater later.

Each one of us has something to be PROUD of, so pat yourself on the back. Congratulate those good yet difficult decisions. Give yourself a hug, and say aloud, “I love you and what you do for me.” That feeling will blow your mind once it sets in.

Happy Day After Thanksgiving. :0)

“I just, I can’t, I just, can’t be…”

“I just, I can’t, I just, can’t be…”

I’m not the biggest P-Diddy fan on earth by NO stretch, but this song does it for me! He’s speaking of a relationship he was in and how he loved the person more then he loved himself and he just can’t do it anymore… but the concept of the song is sooo deep! Well look it is to me. :0) “Anything that you love more then you love yourself is a Dangerous Infactuation. Money, sex, drugs, fame, whatever it is…when you let your Spirit lay way-side to that which you find so dauntingly provocative, you spit in the face of your own existence.” – MLM quote.

Life is a journey, not a trial. Regardless of what you’ve heard, trials come but they are not to be the foundational component of your faith. Faith is NOT an overwhelming test of your love for God. (as we say in church, I’m talking real good). Faith is the PROOF of God’s love for you. OOOOO SHOOT! Come on now.

So when you look face to face at that which you love more then you love yourself, weigh it against the love your KNOW God has for you… If you don’t know what that equates to, grab a piece of paper and write down all you’re grateful for… you’ll get the idea.

Be Quiet and Listen

I’ve only met him once, and he is a friend of a friend… therefore I don’t know him. I handed him my business card, which I graphically designed myself and he turned his face up so much, that he looked like another person, the words, “I’m not feel’in it” was all that came out of his mouth. From that moment I realized, he was yet another person placed in my life for a Divine Intervention/ Interaction. This acquaintance has turned into an advisor literally overnight and I’m more then merrier for it. The product is the proof in the pudding… remember I told you that.

There are times when we think… we just know that what we have is crim-dela-crumb… and at times it very well could be. But there are others when it is NOT! This was one of my times, and I pray God will continue to put people in my life that will fix those “NOT” moments. As much as I liked my cards, I was able to listen with an open and humble heart to what this man had to say. I was not ashamed that my feelings were hurt, nor were they hurt long. Again, when you’re on the path of your PURPOSE, your ego learns to take a back seat, if it wants to stay in the car. (OHHHH that sounds like a MLM quote!)

I’m a woman so I know we have a lot on our minds that we want to express, but when we listen, when we truly shut up and listen the goddess in us shines so fervently, that we no longer need to speak… our beauty makes the point! (another quote… I’m on FIRA!)

Let’s quiet our Spirits and listen today…. Shhhh “God is try’na tell you something.”

Compassion

O.C. Allen, III said, "You don't know what it cost to be me." Ouch! In other words, you really don't know what someone is going through. What they show you could be just that, a show. The fact of the matter is that walking a mile in someone's shoes, is only one mile in a LIFE-LONG MARATHON.

When we hear the word compassion we often associate it with pity, needing the full details of a person's life, but l like to think of compassion, like we think of faith... sight unseen. Compassion for our brothers and sisters should be a given, it should come with being a "whatever you call yourself".

"Love-on" somebody today, don't ask... just do. Trust me, the love you get in return is exactly what YOU NEEDED.

HEY have a BLESSED DAY! MUAH

Don't ask for Clarity and keep your eyes closed.

While speaking to one of my most Spiritually evolved friends we embarked on this phenomenon. Why would you ask for clarity and keep your eyes closed. How many times have we asked for someting to be revealed and at the moment of revelation we turn a blind eye to truth?

It is important that we heed to that which we not only pray for but receive as lessons. Spirit presents wisdom all around us, but what are we doing with it? I'm learning everyday to learn everyday.

Be blessed. MUAH

Do you cuss when you pray?

LOL! I was talking to a friend of mine last night and I told him, “I’ve learned to be really real when I talk to God.” If you can’t be real with Him, then you’re not even being real with yourself. This is a great controversy among “christians”, but I think I’m on to something here. Some would say that it’s irreverent, well I say it’s all about context. If I’m in the midst of a trail and in pure frustration I go to God, it is then that His ear is really turned towards me, because I’m at my most sincere point. Same can be said in the midst of praise and joy. When we are at a peck of emotion, God is right there and He already knows what you’re thinking, so you mind-as-well, be YOU.

That’s just my thought. My relationship with God changed when I realized we are related. WOW that was deep…. Ya’ll missed that one.

Listen, have a WONDERFUL DAY! And Blessed weekend. See you Monday! MUAH

Who is Your God?

My friend told me today that when he woke up this morning he heard, “Stop telling God how big your problems are, tell your problems how BIG your God is.” Powerful words that we should live by, right? But I tweaked it just a little, tell your problem WHO your God is.

See I think that we have a tendency of making other things our god which inevitably becomes our problem(s). If you look at a situation that you’re dealing with, research back just a little bit, I’m sure that we will all discover that there was a fork in the road, where we made a choice based on our wants and Idol-I-listic (I just made that up) ideas. For example your love life is shoot (now), and when you look back, you’ll see how you kept choosing the wrong type of person (then), because they “fit” your certain criteria… but when you look around and think things over… you see that your criteria (how they look, how much money they had, etc…) was not based on love but on, something else (your idol). Right?

So today we’re in the midst of a problem, tell it that it is no longer the vocal point of your existence. Tell it that your decisions will now be based on Love, not greed. Tell it WHO your God really is.

BOOM! Have an awesome day folks!

Divine Intentions lead to Divine Interventions

GOOD MORNING! WOW I am truly having some divine appointments in my life these days. It seems like everyone I meet is specifically placed in my life and I in theirs. We all have things in common that we couldn’t make up and certainly would not have expected. This morning when I wakened to yet another beautiful day here in ATL, I thought to myself, this is DIVINE… this is really divine.

I realized that once I realized my passion, combined it with my purpose, then backed it with good intentions… the universe simply aligned. WOW indeed!
Divine Intentions lead to Divine Interventions, trust me. Today, this week, the rest of the year, pray of what your goals are, what they should be, your purpose and your intentions…. Then MOVE ON IT… ROCK the rest of 2010 like a Cali Quake!

Hoarding

While flipping through the channels last night I came across a episode of hoarders. This is not my first time watching it but it was the first time I noticed a dreadful question... What are we hoarding? What are we holding onto and collecting in our lives? Is it food, is it memories, is it wishes and hopes that things could've or should've been different? This collection of stuff eventually becomes waste, weighing us down, keeping us stuck.

Let's start cleaning up today. Throw away all that stuff, it wont help your tomorrow.

I CHOOSE!

“Nothing is going to happen unless I choose it” – India Irie writes in her song I Choose, one of my favorites written by her. She speaks about not allowing her past to define her, not bringing that past into her future and not basing her current situation of her past experiences – Good Stuff!

This song reminds of what I did when I moved to Atlanta, almost two months ago, I got rid of EVERYTHING except clothes, dishes, car, motorcycle and my Bella… all furniture, fixtures, grief, pain, anxiety, and history was left behind. I’m under new management… MYSELF! I choose, not my past… my RIGHT NOW!

Choose who you want to be and be that.

Workout Daily

Just like our physical bodies, our minds need exercise daily. It has been a goal of mine for a few months now to do something daily with my mind, whether it’s reading, writing in my BLOG, doing memory exercises or trying to learn and use a new word… whatever it is I try to stretch the perameters of my mind everyday. Perhaps it is a new concept that we should consider, a new idea that we should really think about, or even refraining from negative talk for 24-hours.

Whatever it is, let’s try to some core development in our minds… we just might be stronger then we thought.

Be awesome!

STRETCH!

When you become complacent you become stiff, this is true for every aspect of life. When you don’t reach for your goals, you stay at that level of unachievment. When we don’t aim high, we remain in a low life condition. When we don’t stretch… we shrivel up and die.

Every morning, STRETCH. Jump out of your bed, touch your toes, lean to one side then the other, reach up to the heavens and pull down today’s gifts.

STRETCH out of your comfort zone.

Be Awesome today… you deserve it. MUAH

Forgive Yourself

“Well Megan you sound ridiculous.” Do I? We are our worst critic and we can sometimes treat ourselves like a man on the street. When we make mistakes that have lasting affects (like marrying the wrong person, being in a bad relationship for years, gaining a lot of weight and being heavy for years) these type of mistakes can have a very lasting affect on our lives and leave us saying, “I can’t believe how much time I’ve wasted.” That comment is dangerous. All we can do is recognize our bad choices, evaluate why we made them at that time and simply make a NEW DECISION.

Forgive yourself TODAY don’t think about the past anymore.

Have GREAT DAY

NO MORE DISTRACTIONS

My goodness the world is busy. Remember the movie “Shawshank Redemption”? One of the prisoners named Brooks was finally released from prison after being there about 60 years. One of his first comments was, “The world has went and got itself in a damn hurry.” It’s in a hurry and full of commotion, disturbances and interruptions that cause us to loose sight of what’s really real… and what’s our real purpose. I recognized how distracted I got yesterday and had to forgive myself this morning (wow I beat myself up about this one…we’ll discuss forgiving ourselves tomorrow). I didn’t do something that I certainly should have done, placing someone else in a compromising position… ARGH that really sucked. BUT I was able to see that and accept my responsibility in the matter.
Powerful words to live by.

Don’t allow distractions to take you off your mark, and if you have like I recently did, GET YO BUTT BACK ON THAT HORSE!... and ride it into your glorious light! DO IT!

Have a great day!

Believe in Your Vision

If you don't believe in it, what makes you think people are going to rally up and support you? Some of the happiest people on this planet are the ones that had the craziest idea, and went with it. They’re the ones that had wild imaginations, thoughts and fantasies, they ones who had a strong passion for something never done before.

We have been given gifts, all of us and we owe it to ourselves to use them in the fulfillment of our daily joys… don’t you agree? Moses said a people without a Vision will perish… I say a people who have a vision but don’t believe in it are just walking in circles for 40 years!

Have a GREAT DAY!

I got a feel'in...

Ledisi has a song that fills my face with a smile. She sings in her full voice, "I gotta feel'in that today's my day... Going my way..." I've made it a point to play that song every morning this entire week and honey let me tell you, I haven't won the lotto but my attitude has been uplifted.
What would happen to your attitude if you started it off with a song in your heart?

Try it next week. Find the song that makes you happy and listen to it while you brush your teeth or get the kids ready.
It just might make a difference.
Have an awesome weekend!

Generational Curse

Is it still a curse when you’re clear on exactly what’s going on? When you aware of the issues that have been passed down from generation to generation; is it still a curse or now a personal challenge? Aunty O says, “when you know better you do better.” I agree with this, however I also believe that in everyone’s life there’s a fork in the road and at that defining moment you decide to be that abusive parent, just like your father, choose to be a drug addict just like your mother, OR you say NO I’m not going to continue this generational curse… it will not find life in mine.

We all have our stories to tell, and as it is said, “we all come from dysfunction”, but I ask you, WHAT WILL YOU DO ABOUT IT?

Don’t let the pink elephant stay in the room next to your children’s bunk-beds… fix it now so they wont have to later.

WHIP YOUR HAIR!

Ellen Degeneres asked 10 year-old Willow Smith what it means to “whip your hair”, she responded (with one hand on her hip and the other in the air), “It means I’m doing me and that’s it, so…” At the tender age of 10 she knows just how important it is to be YOU and not care what others might think. This is a valuable lesson that I learned within these past few years. Living this life is hard enough, but existing for the approval of others is simply unbearable.

Be you today… just try it out for size, if you don’t like you, well you can always go back to ummmm whoever you are.

Be Blessed, MUAH

What's Your True Calling?

My Aunty O (Oprah Winfrey) has this question on the cover of her magazine for this month. What is your calling? I can finally say that at this point in my life I know what it is, and with that knowing has come a sense of purpose and drive. This life confirmation doesn't have to be a religious thing; we were not all meant to be pastors, thank God... But we are all meant to be "a something".

Take the time out to think about your real reason for getting up out of the bed everyday... It just might make your mornings alot easier.

Have an awesome day!

What’s the Cure?

Many times we find ourselves with an ailment that literally debilitates us mentally, emotionally, physically and Spiritually. A story was told of a man who laid on the porch of the CURE (hospital) for 38 years and never went inside to be healed. He had every excuse in the world, why he was unable to go that extra two steps to freedom. Finally, one day, Wisdom came by and asked him, “Are you READY for your healing?”

That question caused the man to self reflect; “Am I pitting myself?, Do I actually like being sick?, What am I even sick from?” When he was able to really look at himself and answer these questions he was FREED!

What is the cure for the illness you’ve been holding on to for decades? Whatever it is the answer is in your DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

MUAH, have an awesome day.
