Comfort Zone

Ok so we already know that we need to be comfortable with ourselves in order for us to be comfortable anywhere, right? Of course. But I was thinking the other day, how often we find ourselves in a situation or place that we’re not comfortable in. For example, we tell our teenage girls (and boys), don’t let anyone force you into having sex before you ready… but then they see us being forced to do things we don’t want to do all the time. We have friends that aren’t really our friends, we stay in abusive relationships, we mistreat our bodies (health wise), we complain about work, time, God, the list goes on and on… The mirror we’re presenting isn’t very clear.

Comfort is a choice, so get comfortable. It is not your destiny to be miserable, I promise.

TGIF! Have a RADICAL weekend. MUAH (see you Monday)

  1. God spoke everything into being...except for man..which He formed with His hands. This is enough..to "get comfortable"... Great post, Megan.

  2. LOVE, love, LOVE your encouraging, funny, and Truthful insight. Preach it girl!!! Found my way from a google search of the funny weather reports. Looks like next week will give you more in that area. For now, I'll catch up on your wisdom and look forward to hearing me. Best wishes for continued success!!! I find that I am truly hungry to hear encouragement from others that lead me to be healthy inside and out for His glory. Bring it!

  3. What are your thoughts about getting out of your comfort zone when it comes to serving others? I'm talking about being ready to minister like Jesus did. He didn't hang out with the cute and cuddly types, he reached out to the lower class of his day. How many of us can get uncomfortable just standing in line behind someone who is unkempt or dressed uniquely?

I love that your foundation has been strong and, as your new fame is growing, you will have a Rock to stand on so that you don't slide into the pits that can sometimes come with that same fame. Keep it real Megan!

  4. I pronounce my name the same way! Mee-gan! That's so funny. I thought I was alone in the world with this crazy but unique name. (A family member sent me your weather report bc they heard you pronounce your name & couldn't believe it. Ha)

  5. Hello Megan,
I too stumbled across your mini weather clip about snow in the A.T.L. , my sister found you on there and we thought you were very funny and genuine. I must say, the website we found you on is very crass and lascivious, however, after listening to you and finding you on other sites, I was pleasantly surprised about your background. You know, I am a firm believer that in order to reach the masses, you have to mingle with the masses. Most people on that sight, are very lost and caught up in the evil ways of this world, that if, and when i do happen to tune in, I am not on their for entertainment purposes, I inquire randomly because it is the fuel for my writing, when it comes to our people. Whew!!! I know that my intro. was very winded, but i just wanted to get that out of the way, by breaking it down like that. Nonetheless, I am encouraged by your intellect and the conviction, and confidence that radiates from your soul. Not to mention the passion you have for our people, I too am trying to retrace our steps back into time to face our past, in order for us to walk upright, prosperous, and fruitful towards the future. My attention towards you and your messages has sparked an interest in my heart. Keep doing what your doing, and all that you do...you already know you will be blessed for it. One other quick thing about your topic today, which is why I even decided to comment, I believe our people are so far their own unique comfort zone, and so deep into the wretchedness of this world, that the comfort that they claim to have was compromised long before we were even born. Once again I am a firm believer that in order to correct our problems we need to open a book, and I'm not just referring to the Bible. I am a revolutionary writer focused on the ups, downs, sacrifices and failures of our people. If you are not too winded by the extent of this comment, I would really appreciate it if you took a look at one of writings. Some of them are poems, and some are opinionated essays that I write about. Well Megan, I look forward to dropping you some lines again, and perhaps we can exchange some words of wisdom in the near future. Well, take care, and have a victorious day!!

    peace

  7. so need to see and remember this, esp. this weekend...ironic, we are taught to never be followers...to lead our own emotional brigades...as Eleanor Roosevelt said "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent"...yet, we often choose to never 'follow' ourselves, heed our own advice...follow our own advice...how can we preach to our teenagers to make responsible choices, when we won't be accountable for letting ourselves into irresponsibly emotional situations? amen and thank you MM! ♥
